SAiR Artists' Showcase at Matadero Madrid

The Center for Artistic Residencies at Matadero Madrid recently hosted a special event featuring the talented artists participating in the Sustainability is in the AiR (SAiR) project. Taking place on March 7th and 9th, this event provided a platform for artists to explore innovative perspectives on sustainability, art, and society, and to connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts.

Featured Artists' Projects:

Christina Zampoulaki, one of the participating SAiR artists, showcased her thought-provoking project focusing on food waste. Through her work, Zampoulaki challenged conventional perspectives on consumption and waste, urging viewers to reconsider their relationship with food and the environment.

Maria Nikiforaki, another talented SAiR artist, explored the intersection of sustainability and social politics in her project. Drawing inspiration from Hannah Arendt's writings, Nikiforaki investigated the potential of ritual practices and performative acts to create alternative futures for communities facing precarious situations.
