Lenka Kubelová: Inks from the Kitchen, Workshop

In the frame of SAiR project and in collaboration with the Paisanaje collective, on 26 June 2025 Lenka Kubelová gave a workshop linked to the artistic production process she is developing during her stay at the Centro de Residencias Artísticas de Matadero Madrid.

The workshop discovered how to turn everyday ingredients and food scraps into vibrant, natural inks. In this hands-on workshop, the participants explored how to create natural inks using seasonal vegetables, fruits, and spices—right from the kitchen. They have learnt practical tips for extracting, using, and storing natural inks, and how to extend the colour palette by experimenting with pH modifiers.

They have tested bright, earthy, and edible inks on paper and created a set of “digestive diaries” - a visual tasting of the colours our kitchens have to offer.
